Toți cei trei termeni se referă la obiecte din sistemul nostru solar.
- Ele diferă ca mărime, compoziție și distanța lor de soare. Cu toate acestea, nu există definiții precise cu privire la dimensiune.
- La începutul apariției spațiului, așa-numitele planetetesimale s-au format din praful lichid și stelar.
- Unele dintre aceste planetesimale s-au dezvoltat și s-au dezvoltat în planete. Ceea ce a rămas erau asteroizi și comete.
Asteroizi: orbită similară cu Pământul
Asteroizii sunt corpuri cerești care s-au format pe o orbită similară cu cea a Pământului nostru. Asteroizii sunt adesea denumiți planete minore sau asteroizi.
- Un asteroid este format din substanțe solide, și anume rocă și metal.
- Majoritatea asteroizilor sunt localizați în așa-numita centură de asteroizi dintre Marte și Jupiter.
- Întrucât asteroizii conțin substanțe volatile puțin sau deloc, spre deosebire de comete, acestea nu formează coadă. De aceea, aceste corpuri cerești nu pot fi văzute cu ochiul liber.
Cometele sunt mai departe de soare
Cometele s-au format mai departe în afara sistemului nostru solar. Spre deosebire de asteroizi, acestea nu constau din materiale solide, ci din praf și apă sau monoxid de carbon, adică substanțe volatile.
- Deoarece sunt mai departe de soare, unde predomină temperaturile mai scăzute, substanțele volatile sunt înghețate.
- Dacă o cometă se apropie de regiunile „mai calde” ale spațiului, aceste substanțe se dezghețează și formează așa-numita „comă”, o „bulă” în jurul corpului ceresc.
- Această „comă” îi dă numele cometei. Bulele din jurul corpului ceresc formează apoi coada tipică de cometă.
- Majoritatea cometelor nu sunt vizibile cu ochiul liber de pe Pământ. Cometa lui Halley este o excepție. Se apropie de Pământ la fiecare 76 de ani și apoi poate fi văzut. Ultima dată a fost în 1986.
De la meteorit la stea căzătoare
Cele mai mici obiecte sunt meteoriții. Sunt destul de mici: pot avea câțiva centimetri înălțime sau câțiva metri. În orice caz, acestea sunt mai mici decât asteroizii, deși aici limita nu este definită cu precizie.
- Meteoritele pot fi fragmente după o coliziune de asteroizi sau comete. Dar se formează și din praful cozii unei comete.
- Atâta timp cât sunteți în spațiu, obiectele sunt de fapt numite meteoroide. Numai când intră în atmosfera pământului devin meteor.
- Frecarea aerului creează frecare de aer, ceea ce creează o urmă de plasmă. Electronii încep să strălucească în el. Aceasta este ceea ce devine vizibil ca o stea de filmare.
- Când un meteorit ajunge în sfârșit pe Pământ, ceea ce a mai rămas din el se numește meteorit.
